I have been wanting to snorkel my grizzly but i dont have the money to buy the kit. Is there anyway to snorkel it without buying the kit? is it safe? just needing some help

when you snorkel a yamaha grizzly 660 do you need to bring up the carb bowl vent line? if i dont will it shut off in the water? i have my bike snorkeled and i have all the vent lines up and all the electrical sealed and it still shuts off in the water, any suggestions?
