So I took the exhaust pipe snorkel off, I didn't like it and thought it looked funny. This is how it sits now and how I plan to leave it. They worked GREAT, I had it in water well over the racks and it never skipped a beat and there are no leaks either. But you must Di-electric grease EVERYTHING, espescially the spark plug or it will stumble and cough in the water

I have had my grizz snorkeled for a while now, and like you said I did end up putting a jet-kit in it, and after putting it in it runs great. BUT I did have one problem after that. Before the jet-kit it ran fine, but was extremely hard to start, and the jet-kit fixed that. But after the jet-kit when I take off it coughs and stumbles until the throttle is pressed enough then it runs fine. I was wondering why it does this, and want to make it stop. I got to thinking and my buddy said he thought it was bc the engine is getting more air+gas which is making more exhaust. Would putting a hmf pipe on it stop this from happening? If not what can I do?

EDIT!:

I fixed my problem, my air filter was missing a huge chunk if foam which was allowing dirty air to get into the carb, which was causing the problems I was having. One thing i did notice the jet-kit gave me about a 10mph increase from 41mph to 51mph

Just a quick ? Anyone know how to get the front end up when going deep on a 2X4? Thinking of snorking my son's 350 but can't seem to get the front up in the deep stuff and really thats the whole point in doing it, to go deep that is. Maybe this will help, power is about at the max I have 27" Laws on the back and its stock.

That seems odd. You said you have 27" laws on the back...do you have different tires on the front?
Also, does this happen when you ride it or when your son rides it as well...maybe a weight thing.
Could you describe what it does? Does is tend to "plow" or "nose-dive" into the water? Does shifting your/his weight toward the rear help?

I have stocks on the front, will be putting 26's on. It seems to want to just plow, now it does want to float a little but by then i'm at the point when I'm turning around, no snorkle yet,LoL! Now remeber it's a 2 wheel drive so i'm sure this too has something to do with not getting it up and out of the water.

It is certainly possible that the 2X4 layout has a big effect as front wheels turning would tend to want to "swim" to the top of the water. I also think that having equal sized tires in the front might help. Keep in mind that rubber is more-or-less neutrally buoyant but the air inside the tires is def more buoyant so bigger tires act more like pontoons. I'd hold off judgement until you get the 26" in front but, even then, you will have a 1" advantage in the rear (and I bet the rears are wider...therefor more air; more buoyancy).

It could be the tires on the back. They might be to wide causing the back to float an not hit the bottom. The key to doing a water wheelie is getting the rear tires to find traction on the bottom. All I have to do to wheelie mine is lean back a little bit and hit the gas, it'll pop right up as long as the back tires find traction. Your sons 2wd should be easier to wheelie than my 4wd bc it's about 60 or 70 pounds lighter in the front than my heavy 4x4. Try having him stand on the back rack and just as the water gets to the headlights lean back just a little and hit the gas, she should pop right up

Shifting your wight to the back should help, it doesn't take much weight on the back for the front to come up, bc I only weight 120lbs and that's enough to get the front of my 350 up. Since you said the bike was a 2x4 there is something that might help get the front up. One of my buddies has a 2x4 and he deflated a basketball and put it in the front behind the bash plate and inflated it in there. It helps his come up, just a thought

Yeah mine actually wheelies easier in 2wd. There's more power going to the rear tires. You're just spoiled with all the 700 power!thedevil1 they'll wheelie very easy but a 350 you really have to move your weight around to make it do what you want

okay, couple questions.
1. can you post a materials list with the lengths of the tubing, connectors, glue, tape, clamps etc.
2. what did you do with the vent lines and how many of them were there?
3. did you put additional sealing between the cover of your airbox and the airbox itself?

the guide is awesome by the way. thanks so much.

also on the whole 2x4 water wheelie thing, i used to have a 2x4 big bear 250 and i could water wheelie it just fine. if your still having problems, try kneeling on your seat before you go in with your feet hooked into the back, as soon as it gets in the water start leaning as far back as possible. if that doesnt work, id get some weights for it. ive let 15 LB weights hang off the back of mine so that its easier to pull into a wheelie while still sitting down. i ride a 350 4x4 now and to be honest, when your in the water all you need is 2 wheel drive UNLESS your in water that has soft sand or a really muddy bottom. if those back wheels dig themselves in, get out as fast as you can. lol

I don't have that 350 anymore, I sold it for a 660 so I don't have it in front of me for a material list. Sorry. Just have to look at pics and do your best. I know it was all done with 1.5" PVC and flex hose. And for the vents, I Teed them all together into one 1/4" vent line and ran them up one of the middle snorkels as it was just a dummy snorkel anyway. An the only extra sealing I did to the airbox was dielectric grease the gasket. I didn't silicone it.
