I figured we needed one so I will start.
26" Maxxis Zillas, 9" fronts, 11" rears
Black Ams 12x7 4 spoke wheels

How do you like your Zillas? I'm in the market for some new tires. How do they do in mud and on the trail? I don't see snow here in SW Louisiana, so that's not an issue. Also, what's your thoughts on 27" Zillas on my 550. I put in an EPI "sport" clutch kit (thanks for the video!) and fixing to do a 1.5mm shim mod. Thanks.

The zillas are a good 50/50 tire. They do good in the mud and don't beat the hell out of you on the trails like a true mud tire would. The 550 should be fine running the 27"s since they are light.

They look like a good 50/50 tire. A buddy suggested vampires, but they look like they'd be too rough on hard pack.

Here is the weight chart for them i am also thinking about going with the 27'' To save the weight but either way i will be changing the secondary and weights so idk just wanted to get another opinion on the tires and the weight thing

have you looked at the ITP mud lite tires. Those might be a good thing for your style of riding. I had them when I first started and they did well in the mud and trail ridng. Just another option in case you havent seen them before.

I have had them on before the kendas i have on now..

They do ok for smaller mud but some times i like to hit a bigger hole and they are not so good... Plus i have read alot of good things on these tires plus i have seen them in action and know people that loved the reptiles and now love the swamp lites

I'll like them , I had a set of Terracross already on my last machine and put over 10,200 miles on them in 3 years with not one flat that's why I bought them again .

Well I had the 12" ITP SS rims and Mud Lites on the grizz when I picked it up. Liked the rims but hated the tires for colorado riding (minus snow and mud)


So I just went with the GBC Grim Reapers 26x10-12r (front) 26x12-12r (rear)

Going for a test run Monday but so far i like them.
