I've been trolling CraigsList for months looking for a welded jon boat with a 50hp engine...I've been all over NC and SC looking at boats that were in "great shape"...Friday I purchased a 16/52 Lowe RoughNeck with a 2 stroke Yamaha 50...all 2001 and all in nearly new condition...very little use...She runs well and the hull is impressive running against a pretty good wind...

The boat was in Chesterfield Va...just South of the Confederate Capital Of Richmond...I'm guessing 250 up the street...I pulled needed maintinence on the Dodge beforehand...Everything went well until I'm 35 miles from home...I slowed as a car turned left in front of me...As I accelerated the Dodge died stone cold...I coasted into a convenience store...yes they can be very convenient!! After a few minutes a Biker approached asking if I had troubles..He had a friend with a shop nearby...As luck would have it I'd sent some long gone members too this shop too switch some Grizzly rubber..He towed the Dodge the last 35 for 125...I tipped 20 too his kid...My BIL towed the new boat too the compound...I plan on pics when the weather clears...

Code P1688 Internal Fuel Injection Pump Controller Failure.....Dammitt Now Son...I'm gonna have too save a week or three too cover this...Might as well add the 100HP injectors as well...thedevil1thedevil1thedevil1

Dude that sucks! Usually I would have said lift pump but the injection pump have their issues as well. Congrats on the new boat cant wait to see pics! :boxing:

D57H....I did the spare tire delete....Air Dog 150 gph lift pump back there now..Hellman Sump feeds the lift pump from below the tank...Hellacious lift pump system...Even a steering column mounted fuel pressure guage that measures lift pressure at the VP 44....The mechanical side of my fuel system is the best money can buy...and it fails on the electrical side....Dammitt!!!!! The new 44 will have the new Bosch computer attached...The only way I could add that upgrade was too purchase a new pump...The good news is I've found a Bosch Reman shipped for $970...Probably gonna add some new and BIGGER injectors at the same time....I'll be a clutch and turbo upgrade short of 550hp..One step at a time...

The Ranger I scored for cheap is turning out pretty good...The ft. hubs are not locking and the sending unit for the fuel gauge bit the dust...Otherwise all is good...It turned 68k last week at a total investment with tax and tag of $1270...I've purchased a gallon of OD Green....The Ranger is traveling until the Dodge is fixed...Paint will come later...

Liquid I heard about those tornados...We did get some nasty wind and storms...It was fairly nasty this afternoon as well...Wind was cutting right through me...Very soon it will be 95* in the shade and I will be a happy man. Glad you were spared by the storms...

Growing up my Dad worked for Honda..He also rode a motorcycle...Mini Trail 50 was my first Honda...A new 76 750 my last...I was 16 in 76 and riding a 750 on the street...Drag racing required the move too Kawasaki and a Yoshimura prepped 73 900 Z1...Later I switched too Suzuki for their 1100...I quit drag racing and have only owned HD street bikes since that day...I wouldn't have given you $5 for any Yamaha I'd ever seen...They whipped my azz many a day on the moto-cross track but at the strip never really showed up...My outlook changed when a friend signed his life away for a 600 Grizz...We were trail riding pretty heavy and the 600...It kicked everything's azz at that time....All that just too say I made damn sure my new boat had a Yamaha hanging on the back....I'm stoked about that...

The Mechanical Rattlesnake......

The Dodge still sits awaiting a fuel injection pump...so....

I decided too install the power steering pump on my 79 Bronco...Arabic Sheiks smile every damn time I fire old Bronco Billy....The new pump promptly blew the seal out from the bottom of the steering gear...meanwhile....

The little Ranger....I'd installed a new water pump a few days ago...Yeah Ford musta' figured the water pump was gonna outlast the truck..Damn near had too remove the rear end too get that sucker installed...Glad too say there are no leaks and a drop in operating temps has been observed...A strong dose of Sea Foam had lead too a hole in the brass fuel float...Isn't plastic cheap...and doesn't it last forever/?/? Brass?/?/? Well I was sure the new sending unit I'd already purchased wasn't reading correctly..It was....So I headed too the big Stealership too pick up a float and fix the problemo...Funny how the parts guy said..."Yeah we got plenty of those floats" ....Brass....Mfers....I'm heading back and take the back door cut by Harris Lake...A real black snake of a road...One section is rather twisty and naturally I'm hauling ass...The last curve is a long sweeper too the left....Next thing I know I'm looking at the sky and the steering wheel ain't doing what I want it too...All I saw was one hell of a bunch of sparks!! I managed too corral the sideways Ranger and keep it outta the ditch and such....Barely...I guided it safely too the side of the road...The left rear c-clip fell out!!! The wheel, brake drum and axle were about 200 feet back...Yep...Glad I wasn't hurt and really glad no one else was either....The Ranger has 68k...Low miles in my book....7.5 rear sporting limited slip and a 4:10 gear...The limited slip clutch pack was more than worn out and the added pressure of the twisty road allowed the c-clip too escape....Luckily I can post the Ranger at one hell of a deal and more than double my investment....and that's exactly what I'll be doing...as soon as I get that dang limited slip back together....I'm gonna need some new wrenches at this rate.....thedevil1thedevil1thedevil1

$250 for the parts too re-assemble the rear end...That will only be replacing what was worn out or damaged....I'll be in it @ $1700 and it will be on the Craigs very soon...The Miata only lasted 30 minutes on the List...Betting the Ranger will go fast as well...Wish me luck...

Next Sunday my Mom turns 80...Let's just hope we can make it that far...We're having a covered dish dinner for her after services at her church...I'm in charge of beverages...and ICE!! What kind of gift you gonna buy?/?/? Think she'd like a new rod and reel?/?/?

It's been beautiful down in Dixie...80** plus a little today...Everyone comments we had a mild winter..WTH/?/? I was freezing my ass off...Spring looks too be here...Anyone seen my flips?/?/?

Alcohol...Well we're from a long line of farmers...We grow sheet....Some products lend themselves too fermentation...Digg?/?/? I inherited a acre vineyard...It's one hell of a lot of work...For the past three years the deer have completely wiped me out...every last damn grape...I ripped the vines up a few weeks back...Finishing up with the poles now...Over the years we've made a few gallons of wine...Whatcha gonna do...I'll buy a few bushels too keep the wimmens happy...fekkin deer...

March 5th marked three years that I lost my nephew of 17 years too an automobile accident...He could ride the hell outta any 4-wheeler or dirt bike..

Last Friday the phone rang at 7:30am...Hell no I wasn't up...My Neice and BroInLaw were on there way too school when they passed an accident..It was the brother and sister of my Neice's life long best friend...Not good....Long short the young man was lost...at 17...My Neice's friend was at school and had no knowledge...My sister was directed too pick her up...Her parents were at the hospital with her sister, who will recover...My family provided shelter for the little girl until the parents arrived home at 11pm...My sister and Neice took her home...Upon arrival at home she remarked about all the cars..."There must be a surprise party"...She is a precious soul and having the knowledge that her life would soon change forever was a real bitch....
Then...........
As my BroInLaw was pulling the truck around the house their dog of 13 years. Bullet, ran under the tire...crushing his hip...Bullet was well on the road too recovery with fishing line for a ligament...Just back too running he must have mis-judged...I was called too get him from underneath the truck..as he was quite viscious on his best day...He had too be put down and was buried the following day...RIP Bullet...You're still a little bastard!!!!!

Days like that....While it did reawaken old memories...Well my problems are trivial in comparison...El Dee...Soldier in the Grizzly Army..........thedevil1thedevil1thedevil1
