i run yamalube 5W-40 Semi-Synthetic for 50 hours rotella 5w40 synthetic 50 hours amsoil 10w 40 synthetic for 50 hours and sent to blackstone labs the amsoils didnt stand out front by no means but i will say it did hold its viscosity where the yamalube and rotella droped to 30 the yamalube and rottela was almost identical in every thing else as the amsoil they where a few things a point or two higher but was told it could be from the other oils where run with low hours on motor so for me its not worth the extra money i know what my charts say thats why i use rotella synthetic 5w40 and save alot of money now my motor has 1300 hours on it i may send a sample the next oil change just to see how my oil is holding up since i know its been 100 hours since its been changed
do a search on rotella t6 sythetic i promise you want be dissapointed $21 dollars a gallon at walmart :s_good:

Here is a great video explaining oil and how and why it works.
Red Line Synthetic Oil - Motor Oil

Red line is another top contender for synthetics i still prefer amsoil IMO its the best but red line is right up there with it. Mobil 1 and royal purple r trash IMO Valvoline is pretty good as well

oil question

thanks, gonna use amsoil...but my grizzly only has 20 miles i just bought it ...im gonna do an oil change at 50miles..should i go wit amsoil break in oil...or just go wit the amsoil atv

I ran the factory fill in my Grizzly for about 200 miles, then changed to AMSOIL. I think the factory fill is a good break-in oil. In addition, your rings will "seat" sooner with the factory fill.

I use the Amsoil 0w-40, we use ours mostly year round. We also have a Raptor that runs it we only use in summer that was slightly "abused" and since we went with the 0-40 it's seemed to start running smoother as well! Amsoil it is for me all the way, grease and oil, quads and diesel truck!
what kind of oil filter you use

I subscribe to this as well, do not run synthetic on a machine with less than ~150/200 miles on it.
